Maldon in Bloom Presentation Evening

There is always an air of excitement at the annual Maldon in Bloom Presentation Evening and the Town Hall was full to overflowing this year, with extra chairs squeezed into every available space. The evening began with a special presentation to Dorreen Linton who recently stepped down as Chair of Maldon in Bloom. Dorreen can be hugely proud of all that she and the team achieved during her tenure, including Gold for Maldon at the Anglia in Bloom Awards four years in a row!

There were many more entries than usual, in all categories, and the standards were impressively high. The atmosphere was amazing and I felt honoured to present the certificates and prizes. the recipients covered all generations and it is, of course, a delight when so many children take part in Maldon in Bloom.

So, a wonderful evening made possible by the support of Deputy Town Mayor Mark Heard, Town Clerk Jane Coleman, Environment Officer Kate Mackshea and Jane Hudson the new Chair of Maldon in Bloom. Also, big thanks to Sharon Flack and Lee Atkinson who played vital roles in the kitchen!
