Local Elections 2019/20

On Thursday 2nd May 2019, local elections will be held to elect councillors for Maldon Town Council and Maldon District Council

Becoming a Councillor

  • Becoming a councillors is both a rewarding and privileged form of public service. 
  • You will be in a position to make a difference to the quality of other people’s daily lives and prospects

Information for Candidates

  • Nomination packs to stand for the local elections on 2nd May will be available from 1st March 2019 
  • Nominations can be returned to the Monitoring officer from 4th March to 3rd April 2019

Candidates Application

  • The candidate’s consent to nomination form must be signed and dated by the candidate and the date must be on of within one month before the last day for the deliver of nomination papers (3rd April 2019)

  • Last date for registration: 12th April 2019
  • Last date for postal vote applications to be received by 5pm on 15th April
  • Last date for proxy applications to be received by 5pm on 24th April 2019
  • Polling date: 2nd May 2019
  • Votes counted: 3rd May 2019
