Maldon in Bloom 2012
The Maldon in Bloom team are working hard to make Maldon a lovely town and we need your support. This year we are celebrating 15 years of Maldon in Bloom!
What do you need to enter? Just enthusiasm and a community spirit - no horticultural qualifications are required.
There are a whole range of competition categories for both residents and community groups. So don’t delay, get involved –- love your town.
The competition leaflet was distributed to every house in the town during April with the Maldon & Heybridge Life magazine. It is also available from Maldon Town Hall, the TIC and Maldon Library or contact Caroline Hooper on 01621 857373 or administration@maldontowncouncil.gov.uk.
Gardens, hanging baskets, businesses, school projects are all judged in mid-June and the event culminates in a presentation evening which will be held at the Town Hall on Thursday 21st June, 2012 at 6pm. This year there will be Special Awards for the best entries in the competition reflecting the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.
The closing date to enter Maldon in Bloom is Friday 8th June, 2012 and the judging will take place during the following week.
If you did not receive a leaflet, please contact Caroline Hooper at Maldon Town Council on 01621 857373 or administration@maldontowncouncil.gov.uk.
The winning entrants then form part of the portfolio compiled for the town’s entry into the Anglia in Bloom competition.
2012 will be the 15th year that the town has taken part and we have won a Silver Gilt for the past 5 years, an achievement of which the town can be justly proud.
